Release notes

What's new in RankBits, collected once a week. For how to read your scores, see Facts & warnings.

  1. Scan locations, referrals and a sharper fact check

    • Pick a location when you scan to see AI answers the way customers in that country see them. Tracked runs and duplicates keep the location.
    • Invite friends with your referral link: they get 30% off their first month, and you get $30 of credit when they subscribe.
    • Pro accounts can put their own logo, colors and company name on PDF, Excel and CSV exports. The PDF report has a new design.
    • Google AI Overview and AI Mode sources now credit the page they really cite, and Google Maps listings count for the business's own website.
    • "How AI describes you" reads your whole website, not just the top of your homepage, and only reports a wrong fact when it can quote the text on your site that contradicts it. Far fewer false alarms.
    • Fact checks and tone are part of the paid plans. Paid accounts can fact-check older scans in one click from the report.
    • New pages: these release notes, and Facts & warnings about reading your scores.
  2. How AI describes you

    • A new report section shows the tone of every answer that names you and the statements your own website contradicts.
    • Being named first now counts more than being named fifth: each place lower in an answer is worth a little less.
    • Tracked scans double-check changes. If your visibility on an engine flips since the last run, RankBits asks again and keeps the majority answer, at no cost to your monthly responses.
    • Tracking emails list the places you won or lost, competitor moves, new negative answers or wrong facts, and changed sources.
    • You get an email (at most once a month per scan) when a scheduled run is skipped because you ran out of responses.
  3. Report menu and share of voice bars

    • Reports have a sticky menu to jump between sections.
    • Share of voice is now a ranked bar chart of you against your top competitors.
    • The pricing page lists which engines each plan includes.
    • Fixed Grok answers that had been failing since October 9, and made Perplexity and search engine results more reliable when a provider is busy.
  4. A new dashboard

    • The dashboard was redesigned: summary tiles, tabs, search, a small trend line on each tracked scan, and history you can open in place.
    • Pausing, renaming, changing frequency and running a scan now happen without a page reload, with undo where it helps.
    • Reports load much faster, and a scan keeps running if you leave the page.
    • You stay signed in until 60 days without a visit, instead of 14 days after signing in.
    • Paid plans start with a cost-effective set of engines selected; the others are one click away.
  5. Results by email

    • Get an email with your results when a scan finishes.
    • Cancel your subscription yourself from the billing page.
  6. Grok and steadier tracking

    • Added Grok 4.3 and Grok 4.5 as engines.
    • Share of voice focuses on your brand and real competitors.
    • More reliable Google Search results.
    • Tracked scans keep the engines they started with, so their trend stays comparable even if your plan's engines change.
  7. Compare tracked runs

    • Compare two runs of a tracked scan side by side.
    • Trend charts and comparisons use the same final score as the report.
    • Scans interrupted by a server restart now recover on their own.
    • Perplexity moved to its newer API.
    • Fixes to the PDF report and its share of voice.
  8. Write articles from your recommendations

    • Turn a recommendation into a ready-to-publish article with one click, written for the questions where AI doesn't mention you yet, with sources.
    • A standalone AI article generator tool.
    • Use RankBits from AI assistants through the new MCP server.
    • Free single-engine checks on each engine's page.
    • Scans start faster, and the menu folds up on phones.
  9. Free checker and more search engines

    • Try a scan without an account with the free AI visibility checker, and share your score as an image.
    • Your brand is highlighted wherever an answer mentions it.
    • Added DuckDuckGo and Yahoo search.
  10. API, Google sign-in and Bing Copilot

    • Sign in with Google.
    • Added Bing Copilot as an engine.
    • A public API with tokens and docs, including endpoints for tracked scans.
    • Choose which charts to show in your visibility history.
    • Search results now count down to rank 50, not just the first page.
    • Extra response credits are cheaper, with volume discounts.
    • Your billing page shows your renewal date and any scheduled cancellation.
    • A contact page, and search on the blog.
  11. Beacon becomes RankBits

    • New name and logo: Beacon is now RankBits.
    • Recommendations: an action plan listing the exact questions where AI misses you.
    • Download your report as a PDF, or export tables as CSV.
    • Source attribution shows which pages AI engines cite, by engine and question.
    • Competitors are discovered from the sources AI cites, and each question's winner gets a crown.
    • Run a tracked scan on demand, and get email alerts when your trend changes.
    • Edit the generated questions before a scan starts.
    • Plans and billing: Starter and Pro subscriptions, response credits, and a billing page with invoices.
    • Private scans, short shareable report links, and pages showing how each question does over time.
    • Light and dark themes, a blog, and pages for every engine.
  12. RankBits starts

    • The first version (then called Beacon): scan your website across AI engines and see whether they mention you and link to you.
    • Track a scan on a schedule, choose how often it runs, and stop or resume it from the dashboard.
    • Duplicate a scan to change its questions and engines.
    • One score that weighs being named higher than being linked, and checks how many engines agree on each question.
